Maryam Parnian Moeeni began painting in the mid 1980s while studying interior design in Arizona. She moved to Arkansas in 1991 when her husband joined the faculty of Arkansas State University. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on Graphic Design in 1999 and a Master of Arts in painting in 2004 from Arkansas State University.

Her work has been acquired by national, international, private and public collectors. Maryam is a member of the North East Arkansas Visual Art League, Jonesboro, Arkansas and the Memphis Germantown Art League, Memphis, Tennessee.
